DESCRIPTION:The LEIU/IALEIA Conference Committee is proud to announce the launch of a new webinar\, The Four Pillars of Intelligence Support to Law Enforcement\, presented by Erik Kleinsmith.\n \nThis free-to-attend event is scheduled to take place on June 10\, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EDT / 10:00 a.m. PDT.\n \nDESCRIPTION:  Every intelligence organization\, from the small four-person team to the large three-letter agencies must operate effectively in four critical areas: data\, tools\, people\, and processes.  As detailed in his 2020 book of a similar title\, Erik Kleinsmith will discuss the challenges\, pitfalls\, and potential solutions that are applicable to any type of intelligence organization\, operation\, or center related to the performance and integration of these four pillars.  During this webinar\, Erik will show you how to evaluate and improve each of these four areas to include looking at how to evaluate both tools and data sources\, how to integrate effective analytic and operational processes into your operation\, and perhaps most importantly – how to bring in and care for the right personnel as intelligence professionals.  Throughout the webinar\, Erik will arm you with questions\, considerations and methods to help you improve the overall functioning of your operation with the ultimate goal of improving your support to decision-makers and other intelligence customers.\n \nBIOGRAPHY:  Erik is the Associate Vice President for Strategic Relations in Intelligence\, National\, Homeland and Cyber Security for American Military University (AMU).  He is a former US Army Armor and Intelligence Officer with extensive experience in several areas related to intelligence and security as well as portfolio manager for intelligence and analytic related training with Lockheed Martin.  Erik has gained notoriety related to his involvement in the Able Danger program as the military lead of a team of analysts profiling and mapping Al Qaeda prior to 9/11 as well as his involvement in several cold case investigations including the identity of the notorious criminal known as DB Cooper.  He is one of the main subjects of the 2010 book\, “The Watchers: The Rise of America’s Surveillance State” by Shane Harris and is the author of several intelligence and security related articles and the book Intelligence Operations: Understanding Data\, Tools\, People\, and Processes.\n \nInterested members should register via GoToWebinar. \nWe look forward to everyone joining us!\n \nThe LEIU/IALEIA Conference Committee

DESCRIPTION:IALEIA is proud to announce the launch of a new webinar series.  This free-to-attend series of 6 webinars has been prepared in conjunction with our corporate partner\, Chorus Intelligence.  These 1 hour sessions will provide an overview of several key aspects of the intelligence field: the Analytical Cycle; Communication Analysis; Social Network Analysis; Financial Analysis; Human Trafficking; and Gangs.\n \nThe last in this series\, Gangs\, is scheduled to take place on June 24\, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.\n \nSummary\nIn this workshop we will review a comprehensive model for collecting gang intelligence for analysis of gang behaviour.  The discussion will include gang intelligence requirements\, tools for analysing gang information\, and evolving gang regulations.\n \nPresenter Biography\nMari Gavin has been a lead support engineer and system trainer for General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) for over 15 years\, installing\, training\, and supporting multiple intelligence systems including gang\, confidential informant\, all crimes/all hazards\, and case management systems. She has led federal\, state\, and local implementations of gang systems across the country and abroad\, and works directly to support and guide agencies on all activities including installation\, implementation\, training\, and maintenance of gang intelligence data.\n \nInterested members should register via Eventbrite.
